Dr. Demetrios Chaconas was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He attended George Washington University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He received his veterinary degree from the Aristoteleon University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He is a past president of the Western Maryland Veterinary Society and a former representative to the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association. His professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, the Western Maryland Veterinary Medical Association and the Greater Baltimore Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Chaconas has owned and operated the Mount Airy Animal Hospital since 1987, and he currently resides with his family, two dogs, and two cats in Mount Airy, MD. His personal interests have included horseback riding, conjuring, boating, fishing and flying.
Dr. Rosemary Riley was born and raised in Maryland. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and College Park, respectively. She received her veterinary degree from the Veterinary School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2004. Dr. Riley joined the Mount Airy Animal Hospital after working for several years near Baltimore, MD.
Her professional interests include behavior and emergency/critical care. Dr. Riley is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association. Her personal interests have included pottery, cooking, aikido and music. She currently lives with her husband, her daughter and two dogs in Westminster, MD.
